You will find a unique culture and social life in the Himalayas. It differs from the socio-cultural lifestyle of the people of Kathmandu. Along with the base camp of Mt. Everest, this trek presents many other attractions. Like; Sagarmatha National Park, Kala Patthar, the sight of three further towering peaks (Mt. Makalu, Mt. Lhotse, and Mt. Cho Oyu), and the beautiful villages of Sherpa: Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, and Dingboche. Here, trekkers get a very good opportunity to get close to the natural attractions of the Khumbu regions. A settlement at a higher altitude and their way of living is another interesting aspect. Everest Base Camp 12 Days Trek starts with the 30 mins short flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. After arrival in Lukla, you get pleasure from the amazing green hills. Lukla is an entry point of the Everest region. From Lukla, the trekking trail descends to the Cheplung, Sherpa village. Then the trail to Ghat offers the pristine view of Mt. Kusum Kangaru. The trek from Phakding takes you through the green Dudh Koshi Valley. It is rich in Flora and Fauna, Sherpa Village, and Buddhist Monasteries. First, you pass Benkar village, then Monjo village which is the entrance point of Sagarmatha National park. Then the trail continues to Jorsale and finally to Namche Bazaar. From Namche trail continues through the dense forest, National Park, rivers, and glacial to another Sherpa village, Tengboche. This village has Tengboche Gompa. It is the oldest and scared Gompa. From where you get a majestic view of peaks like; Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Taboche, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. Follow the route of the National Park office health post near Debuche. Then the trail traces alongside Imja Khola to the beautiful villages Pangboche, Somare, Orso, & Dingboche. Dingboche is also known as the ‘summer valley’. Next, the trail from Dingboche ascends further to the village Dusa. Then comes at a fork Dughla which heads toward Lobuche through Thokla Pass. With the amazing view of Taboche, Cholatse Peak, and a glimpse of Khumbu glacier, Lobuche Kharka, and Awi peak, we reach Lobuche. With the higher elevation, the trail from Lobuche to Gorakshep is steep and of moraine glacier. This trail is considered the most difficult trail in the entire trek. Gorakshep is the last human settlement on the way to Base Camp. And it is also the final stop to stay on the way to Everest Base Camps as trekkers aren’t allowed to stay in Base Camp. From Gorakshep, Everest Base Camp is only two hours far. From here, you get the see the Khumbu Icefall and other mountains. But Mount Everest is not seen from EBC, so trekkers hike to Kala Patthar. The trail from Gorakshep takes you along the Khumbu Glacier-foot of Everest to Kala Patthar. From Kala Patthar, you have the best view of the Himalayan Range including Mt. Everest. Most trekkers start their journey in the early morning. It gives the perfect vision of the gleaming mountain peaks of Mt. Everest, Lingtren, Khumbutse, Nuptse, and Pumori. After that, you descend following the same trail with more amazing, enchanting, and breathtaking views.
